What are the Dangers of Air-conditioning Refrigerant Leakage?

Air conditioners and refrigerators bring great convenience to people’s daily life, and also improve the comfort of people’s lives. But the refrigerants they use have brought great harm to the industry. One is that the Cl in the refrigerants has a continuous damage to the ozone layer, and the other is their potential for greenhouse effect.
At present, there are two main types of refrigerants used in air conditioners. One is Freon R22, which is a refrigerant that is clearly to be phased out, and has a strong destructive effect on the atmospheric ozone layer. Another Freon R410A is the latest environmentally friendly refrigerant in the world, and it does not damage the ozone layer of the atmosphere.
R22 refrigerant, difluorochloromethane, molecular formula is CHCLF2. It can also be used as an aerosol propellant for spraying and spraying paint, and is the basic raw material for the production of various fluorine-containing polymer compounds. However, R22 belongs to the HCFC refrigerant, and its use will be restricted and prohibited due to its strong damage to the ozone layer of the atmosphere.
R410A refrigerant is a mixed refrigerant, which is a mixture of R32 (difluoromethane) and R125 (pentafluoroethane), which is harmless to ozone. It is what we usually call “fluorine-free” refrigerant. But R410A is not perfect, it is a greenhouse gas, the greenhouse effect it produces is far greater than carbon dioxide, even more than R22. Therefore, the industry generally believes that R410A is only a transitional product, not a final solution.
